Rylstone Dam
Rylstone Dam is a water supply dam located on Cudgegong River. It is a concrete gravity dam with earthfill abutment walls on each end. The concrete section of the dam has a height of 15m, crest length of 140m, crest width of 1.2m and an arch radius of 61m. The total length of the dam including the earthfill abutments is approximately 260m. The capacity of the reservoir at full supply level is 3038ML and the reservoir storage surface area is 0.78km².

Please note: Rylstone Dam is a restricted area, and activities are limited to safeguard the quality of the water supply.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Watercraft
- Fishing
- Vehicles
- Naked flames
- Swimming
- Firearms
- Stock and domestic animals
To assist in protecting the water catchment area, please report any prohibited activity to Council on 6378 2850.
Rylstone Dam is a Declared Dam as pert Part 2, section 4 of the Dam Safety Regulation 2019. Council has established and implemented a Dam Safety Management System in accordance with the Dam Safety Regulation 2019. The Dam Emergency Plan is reviewed and tested in accordance with the regulation.
